‘Hariloot’ going on in the name of development: Menon

Shawdesh Desk:

Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon on Sunday said ‘hariloot’ (plundering) has been taking place in the name of development in the country.

He said this while addressing at Pirojpur district council of Workers Party in the town this noon.

Menon, the former civil aviation and tourism minister of the current government during its last term, said, “The government has taken a zero tolerance policy against drugs. But, unless the top drug peddlers are held, it won’t be possible to eradicate the drug trade and drug abuse from the country.”

Devolvement is not possible without ending the corruption from the country, he added.

Menon, also the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Welfare Ministry, has raised his voice against corruption at the time when he is widely being criticised for inaugurating Young Men’s Club that was raided by the law enforcers for running illegal casino business a few days ago.

He is the running chairman of the governing body of Young Men’s Club.
